Jesus Is So Available--He's Only A Call Away, Holly Coffler

On February 5, 2000 I went to a local church college meeting for the first time. The people were singing and praising the Lord in such a living way that I felt filled with some kind of energy. I didn't know what it was, but I sensed a genuine feeling of love. I began to weep as the man speaking shared the gospel with the congregation. After the meeting, I prayed to receive the Lord Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Even though I was weeping, I still had doubt in my heart.

So, in the privacy in my car I asked, “Jesus, are you real?” Immediately I felt the sensation of my chest being filled with air. In an instant I knew that Jesus was God. I called again, “Jesus is that You?” I felt it again in my chest and I was clear that Jesus was real! I kept calling again and again, “Jesus is real! Jesus is God!” As I called on Him it was like fine tuning a TV. I became clear that Jesus was real. At home I spontaneously dropped to my knees and told the Lord how sorry I was for being so stubborn. I was so sorry for not believing in Him all these years. I kept calling on His name for one hour.

As I began to read the Bible and seek the Lord, the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee has really helped me to experience the reality of Christ in my daily life. So, I decided to come to the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA) for two years. Now I am about to complete the two years in June of 2003. The FTTA is the most blessed place, and what I have gained here is priceless. Under the Training that was set up by Witness Lee, I have learned how to have a real and intimate relationship with the Lord by calling on His name, praising, singing, praying, pray-reading the Bible, declaring the divine truths to other people, and spending time every day seeking the Lord's presence.

The practice I really appreciate is calling on the Lord's name every day, any time, and anywhere (1 Corinthians 1:2; Romans 10:13; Acts 2:21). For example, when I call my friend's name, my friend responds to me by coming to me. It is the same with my Lord Jesus. When I call “Lord Jesus” with my whole heart, He responds by filling me with Himself as the most wonderful Person. When I am upset or even angry, I call “Lord Jesus, O Lord Jesus” until I sense His presence within and all around. Calling on His sweet name swallows up all of my negative emotions and destructive thoughts. By calling on His name this opens me to God so that He can dispense His divine element into my being, saturating me with Himself (Romans 10:13). As I call on Him I enter into the sweet fellowship and enjoyment of God.
